Artist Name: Glory
Album Name: On The Air

Released: 2001
RRLP-40

Glory was probably San Diego’s longest-lived underground rock band. Formed in the late sixties, Glory played their brand of straight ahead, kick ass rock and roll until the early 80’s at which time guitarist Jerry Raney formed the prolific Beat Farmers. “On The Air” was recorded live in 1970 during a broadcast from the studios of San Diego’s “underground” radio station KPRI. The result is an “in your face” performance built around their amazing rhythm section and led by wailing guitars and incredibly powerful vocals. Great original tunes like “Morning Ride”, “Slow Back” and “Another Man Done Gone” shows that these boys were street wise and nail tough. They also do justice to classic rock tunes like Bo Diddley’s “Who Do You Love” which they transform into what sounds like an evil threat from a serial killer. Overall the LP is dark but energetic and shows why Glory earned their well deserved reputation as rock and roll mercenaries.

Circa 1973-76 this Cleveland, Ohio outfit is one of the most amazing bands to ever grace our ears. These boys had enough equipment, drugs and talent to take their listeners on a journey through the hallucinogenic caverns of insanity, in the darkest recesses of ones mind. Imagine Pink Floyd or King Crimson without any of the UK pomp and circumstance! Imagine Krautrock if it had been invented by bad ass inner city biker types with visions into the next galaxy and beyond. Songs like The Dirge, Devil Weed, Together, LSD1, and Organ Over Easy put Pi Corp in a class of their own, as no other American band ever came close to sounding like these guys. World renowned synthesist and electronic music pioneer Alan Howarth, headed the band of renegade musicians from Cleveland. Howarths innovative sounds, combined with the powerful bass melodies of Guy Bickel, takes the band into regions few others have dared to venture. Add the haunting vocals of lead singer Woody Leffel, former front man for the well known band Granicus, and you will definitely find this band arriving at gate Z on the Cosmic Concourse. The band rarely played live and spent most of their time jamming and discovering new plateaus of sound. Whether youre into progressive, Psychedelic, Hard Rock or just pure freak-out, industrial strength musical madness, this LP is for you!! This project is bassist Guy Bickels labor of love as he designed all the artwork and poured his soul into making sure the music sounded as it should.

From the ashes of the band “Red Mountain” rose Born Again. Originally from Marin County in Northern California the band traveled to Los Angeles to try to find fortune and fame. Local producer Roger Dollarhide took the boys under his wing and recorded tracks with them in late ‘69 and early ‘70 at Sun West Studios in Hollywood. led by the tasteful guitar playing of Larry Otis and the soulful vocals of Bryce Sullivan, Born Again was a very versatile band that created a hybrid style all their own. Whether it’s a country tinged ballad ala KAK (”She’s Gone”) or an eerie guitar psych instrumental (”Laura’s Waltzing” from the 1970 Film Soundtrack from “The Velvet Vampire”) these boys were one tight unit that delivered the goods. A chance meeting with the legendary Pat Boone is documented in the LP’s extensive liner notes. The band effectively ended when Larry Otis was hired by Ike Turner to play in the 1974 version of “The Ike & Tina Turner Revue”. Comes housed in a beautiful gatefold cover and sold out quicker than any of our other releases. Sorry, no copies available of this great LP.

RRLP-46
From the archives of the legendary El Paso, Texas Suemi label comes this previously unreleased psych masterpiece by IOTA. This 4 piece band tore up Texas before re-locating to Memphis to record for Hi Records in the late 60s. They released two great 45s, including the amazing Within These Precincts in 1971. Deemed too dark and disturbing for commercial radio, these two releases went nowhere and the band went their separate ways after two years of playing and recording. We have compiled the best tracks recorded in both Memphis and El Paso to put together what we feel is one of the finest Texas psych rock LPs ever released. Songs like R.I.P., Glympses, Bottle Baby, Love Come Wicked and the aforementioned Precincts will have you begging for more from this sadly overlooked band.
Wailing guitars, swirling organ, strong vocals and a tight rhythm section all shine on this well produced disc. This is just the first in a series of releases out of the SUEMI cataloglook for upcoming releases by The Wailing Wall, Medicine and other El Paso bands. Limited to 600 copies in a thick, full color jacket with amazing cover art and lots of band photos.

Our latest release from the vaults of El Paso’s Suemi label, this album has really been turning some heads. Very unusual sounds spearheaded by brothers Darrell and Doug Adams who later moved to the West Coast and released LP’s with the middle eastern influenced band “Light Rain”. The album has a spooky, late night vibe and lyrics that reveal new meaning upon every listen. Great guitar work by Mike Cancelarre and twisted vocals by drummer/songwriter David Rutledge. Visions of late night desert peyote hallucinations on songs like “Scissor-Tail Swallow” and “Country Of The Goose” compliment a hard rock, Captain Beefhart vibe on “Mad Rapper”. Unusual timing and phrasing makes this a journey into the twisted back roads of El Paso’s great rock and roll heritage. Comes with two inserts that has pictures of the band, the band’s history in their own words and a brief background of each cut as told by Darrell Adams. This is destined to be one of our most sought after releases and has been compared to fellow Texas psych monster “Cold Sun” by some.

In 1969, a year before they released their self titled “Wizards From Kansas” LP on the Mercury label, five Kansas musicians entered the Cavern Sound Studios to record a demo tape. Known as Pig Newton at the time, the band had a slightly different line-up then what appeared on the Mercury LP. We obtained the master tape of the Cavern demo in the early 90’s and with the bands help, we are ready to finally unleash this monster on the world. Heavier, up front guitar and no keyboards differentiate this tape from their legendary LP. Six of the cuts are earlier versions of songs that appear on their lone 1970 album. Also included is a 1968 wah-wah drenched rendition of Dylan’s “All Along The Watchtower” and a never before heard original “Exchange Of Clouds” that will have fans begging for more. The LP comes with two inserts that show photos, posters and articles about the band as well as their story as told by drummer Marc Caplan. The band has titled the LP “Still In Kansas”. This is the most anticipated release in Rockadelic’s 15 year history and we are confident that no one will be disappointed. Limited pressing and sure to sell out quickly.

When it comes to “Unsolved Mysteries” in the world of underground music the pickings are pretty slim. For the last 20 years record collectors and music fanatics have turned over every stone and searched every nook and cranny searching for that unheard song by that unknown band that will free our minds and soothe our souls. In the new millennium a few unknown bands from the late 60’s/early 70’s have surfaced with unreleased tapes, but to find an LP that was released back in the day that no collector has even heard about is a true rarity. That’s what we discovered when we found an LP by the band simply called “Music”. Their first and only release titled “The Book Of Music Volume I” was pressed in 1972 in a quantity of 300 copies and sold out immediately for $5.00 each at their local Michigan high school. Amazingly, not a single copy surfaced within collectors circles until 2003.
The LP itself is a mixed bag of mellow folk tunes and over the top hard rock. Side one is the lighter of the two with obvious CSNY influences while side two builds into a Grand Funk-like fury with vocals that must have had Robert Plant’s ears burning.
Rockadelic is about to release this unknown LP in a limited quantity of 300 copies, duplicating the music and jacket of the original release. This LP should have wide appeal as it explores a variety of styles ranging from Neil Young-like folk to Grand Theft-like heavy rock. With the help of two the the band’s founding members this LP will be ready to ship sometime just after New Year’s day 2004. The small pressing is a reflection of it’s unknown status amongst collectors and is sure to sell out quickly.
